SocialBridge & QR Codes

In collaboration with our friends at SocialBridge, we have integrated a brilliantly designed QR code system to bridge the gap between your physical venue and your social presence.

What is it?

A customised physical sign/sticker linked to your social existence (Facebook/Twitter/Foursquare/MyGuestlist etc) allowing your patrons and customers to interact with in and around the venue. It is the bridge between your physical bricks ‘n ‘ mortar and you social existence online and finally allows a way for your customers to socially connect with you, even when you’re not trading or open for business.

How does it work?

As a customer, patron  & punter, you scan this QR code (the bridge) with your mobile phone. If you’re an Android user, you can use the default scanning app that comes on the phone. For iPhones, you can use  any of the popular scanning apps available on the app store with our favourite being RedLaser (eBay’s own QR scanning app).  We can stick these signs on office windows, shop fronts, in waiting lines or in and around a venue. This is so that as people are walking past, coming in or idly hanging around, they can do any of the following:

  • “Like” you on Facebook
  • Check-in via Foursquare
  • Follow you on Twitter
  • Become a Member and/or join your database

At some point in the near future, there may be a possibility that the functionality is extended to allow for

  • Submission of Guestlists, Feedback or Enquiries
  • Be a part of a competition or an offering you may have
  • Submit an entry for something
  • Watch a Video
  • Request a song
  • Redeem something
  • Check out info on upcoming shows/events/nights

Why?

150 million people have QR scanners on their phones and 45 million are engaged with them at any given time. QR codes are fast becoming a great way to deliver information to a mobile phone. Brands like Google, Ford, Pepsi and Starbucks are all using QR codes in their advertising campaigns. It’s time for you to give people the ability to interact with your social existence, while they are in your venue, waiting in line or just walking past.

Which phones does it work with?

QR codes are supported by all major mobile phone operating systems including iPhone, Android and Blackberry.
