The iPhone
I got myself a 3G iPhone today and after all mandatory post purchase actions required to actually label the damn thing a working and usable phone, i immediately formulated my opinion as to what I would be telling people when the question was asked.
I absolutely love it!
Now considering I’m not your drag n drop – i hate micro$oft – apple fanboy kinda guy, I can safely say that the iphone satisfies the needs and desires of a variety of different personnel. The tech enthusiast, the developer, the entrepreneur, the socialite. All can benefit from its wide ensemble of sleek functionality as well as the plethora of 3rd party apps which are making the transformation from messy Objective C code on a computer screen to a shiny web 2.0 icon on your phone quicker than you can say “Hi my name is Steve, I’m looking for a job!”
I’ve never owned an ipod, never owned a mac. This is not to say that i view MS products as superior, or that I love looking at two creepy xeyes peering at me from the corner of my screen in a linux environment, I just simply, have never made an effort to purchase anything apple flavoured.
But i do think the iphone is a success on a number of different levels. And after fiddling around with it for a couple days I immediately saw the potential for the integration of data from MyGuestList to a device thats sitting in the palm of your hand.
I think its off to the drawing board with the team on this one.Although we might have to look at a web mobile app that can satisfy the requirements of more devices rather than forcing users to use a specific platform.
Not only that, but the Apple NDA and decision cycle on whether a particular app makes the cut or not is kicking up a real storm in the tech world. Will investigate.
Exciting things to come no doubt!

I use my phone to talk on…I used to say that…before I got iPhone.
