We’re going to the show!
It’s our first expo and we’re glad to be a part of it. 2 days of drinks, babbling and industry meddling.
Come join us. Still have some free tickets left, but they’re going quite quick.
Send us an email with TICKETS in the subject and we’ll send some out to you.

Bar Show
Hey all
Just uploaded a new video demoing the MGL system in under 5 minutes!
Check it out below or on the front page.
In reflection of the terrible bushfire tragedy of last week, the MGL team are donating all proceeds from this and next month’s startup fees to the Victorian Bushfire Appeal.
You can also donate and help all the victims and survivors online here at the Red Cross Website.
Haven’t really done two posts on the same day before, but there is something different.
Today I noticed an article in the Herald Sun relating to the the proposition for a booking system to be implemented for busy nightclubs so that young people can book online to gain entry to busy city nightclubs.
The proposal comes from Anti Violence group Step Back Think who are comprised of friends of bashing victim James Macready-Bryan, a young man who suffered permanent brain injury after a city assault.
The article is a good read (for both patrons of nightclubs, and nightclub owners themselves) to keep in mind how dangerous and ruthless the streets can be at times.
The SBT group seem to be organised and passionate in their goals, and we at MyGuestList would urge anyone to visit their site and check out their Did You Know facts, as well as joing their Facebook group where you can interact socially with other members of the group.
Hey all
Now that we are in the second half of January and everyone has given up on their newly purchased yearly gym memberships, we can all go back to our normal daily romp.
Just before the new year, we did an interesting interview with Technation. Check it out here.
Good news everyone! (done in the best professor farnsworth voice)
After having listened to feedback given, we are proud to present the introduction of a new edition of the MyGuestList system called MyGuestList Lite.
Now you will be able to choose whether you want to go all out and be entitled to all the goodies of MyGuesList as well as the free upgrades, updates, changes, maintenance & support, or if you would rather just pay a small little fee and be entitled to the core features of the system.
The beauty of going Lite is that you can choose which features you would like to use and pay only for those. Pick ‘n’ choose what suits your venue the best and use only that. Great, isn’t it?
Best part is, you can get the Lite package for less than $7 a week. That’s less than a meal from Mickey D’s! (errr McDonalds)
If you want to know more or sign up, click here.
Thanks to the guys at Tech Wired Australia for their review on MyGuestList.
You can read it all here.
Check them out, they have some cool weekly podcasts and great articles on the Australian tech scene.
Hi-ho ladies and gents
After some thorough testing, the facebook app is live and ready for use. Let’s go for a little rundown tour on how it works shall we?
Step 1
Go to http://apps.facebook.com/[venue_name]
And for all of you playing at home, [venue_name] is where you type in the name of your venue/club/bar/promotions name.
Step 2
You should see the following screen pop up. Click allow, to install the app on your profile.

Step 3
Visit your profile and click on the + sign in your tabs
Step 4
Type “guestlist” in the text field and select our application. In this case, it is called Demo Guestlists for testing purposes.
That’s it!
Your profile will now have a guestlist tab which looks like this
Your patrons can now click on that link and put in their guestlists/VIP bookings or whatever it may be. Remember, that “Platnium Club” is just a demo, fictional venue and the form below is completely customisable to your liking.
The beauty and benefit of this whole process comes down to two main points:
Question: That’s all well and good, but I don’t have a profile for my venue, I have a page.
Answer: Not to worry. Here is how you can add the app for your pages.
To start, follow Steps 1 & 2 from above.
Then navigate to the bottom of the page and click on “Page build by [venue_name] guestlists”
You can now add the application to your page by clicking on the Add Page button
Now all you need to do is just choose which page you want to the application to live on and follow the prompts. I quickly whipped up a demo page just to show you what it would look like when it is all done
Here I have added two guestlist applications. This can be useful for venues or promoters which run multiple nights or events and want to filter their crowd accordingly.
There is a lot more planned with the next version of the app but in the meantime, we would love to hear feedback from all you guys about whats good and bad about it, and what you would like to see. Write us a few lines at feedback[at]myguestlist[dot]com[dot]au
And that’s the way it is, this Thursday 6th November. Untill next time, party hard but stay fresh.
We are always innovating here at MyGuestList…
Today, we announce the update of our gallery application. Loads of extra features and benefits:
- Allow your patrons to comment, vote and rate pictures
